Hospitality and gathering together is a key aspect of studio life at Richard Parr Associates. We decided to work with Cantilever to create a statement piece and focal point in our studio at People’s Hall. It was a huge collaborative success during both the design and execution of the bar. It is now used all day every day to great enjoyment and applaud. Thank you!

I have worked with Cantilever Bars for many years now since we collaborated for my first bar opening ‘Salvatore at Fifty’ in the Fifty St. James private members’ club. Since then, we have worked together on many projects including Salvatore at Playboy Club and bar projects for The Corinthia Hotels and Rocco Forte Hotels. We work together to design the best operational bar possible for the bar team and striving for this led to the design of the world class ‘Calabrese Sink’. This sink arrangement reduces turnaround times by letting bartenders seamlessly dispose of perishables like fruit and vegetable peel quickly and easily – allowing the focus to remain on the customer experience. Cantilever and I share the principle that design is key to successful bars. The bartender needs to be forward facing and able to reach all ingredients to make a cocktail in three steps – and the operational layout is vital to allow this to happen. It’s better to have a few well-equipped bartenders behind your bar than too many working in chaos – and working with Cantilever makes for a happy, efficient and successful bar.
